Mission: The mission is threefold: 1) to be a source of services, information and support to pregnant women and their families; 2) a ministry of healing to those who have suffered from abortion; 3) and a resource in the community, schools, and churches for abstinence education.
SPCC provides free pregnancy tests and sonograms to confirm the pregnancy, free support programs that educate and prepare clients for parenting, adoption assistance, pregnancy options information, material assistance for pregnant and parenting clients. All services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL.
About Natalie Doughty
Natalie Doughty is from Bridgewater, Virginia and began her musical studies at age four. After completing her Bachelors of Music degree summa cum laude in piano performance from James Madison University (Harrisonburg, Virginia) in May 2015, Natalie received scholarships to take her piano study abroad. She attended the Zodiac Music Festival in Valdeblore, France, and the Dublin International Piano Festival in Dublin, Ireland, studying with pianists Francine Kay, Edmund Battersby, Evelyne Brancart, Archie Chen, and Lance Coburn. She has enjoyed additional masterclass coachings and private lessons with artists such as Barbara Lister-Sink, Edmund Battersby, John O’Conor, Asaf Zohar, Mirian Conti, Jean Paul Sevilla, and Stephen Gosling.
Natalie attended the Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival (Tampa, Florida) in the summer of 2016 where she worked with pianists Rebecca Penneys, Blanca Uribe, Christopher Harding, Tannis Gibson, Mayron Tsong, Roberta Rust, Sean Duggan, Benjamin Warsaw, Eunmi Ko, and Omri Shimron. In January 2017, Natalie and one of her studio mates presented “Beyond The Hand Position: Teaching Injury Preventive Piano Technique to Young Students”at the 2017 MTNA Collegiate Chapter Conference at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL.
During her time in the Master’s program at JMU, Natalie served as a graduate teaching assistant and keyboard skills instructor, also providing technical and media support for the piano area. After recently graduating with a Master’s degree in piano performance under the guidance of Dr. Lori Piitz, Natalie received honorable mention at the 2017 West Virginia International Piano Competition and attended the Barbara Lister-Sink Intensive Piano Technique Workshop at Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC.
